Officials with the Republican National Convention will conduct daily coronavirus testing for those attending the event in August, according to a report from News 6s sister station WJXT. Erin Isaac, the spokeswoman for the host committee of the Jacksonville portion of the convention, said in an emailed memo on Monday that everyone attending the convention within the perimeter will be tested and temperature checked each day.Isaac didnt say how the committee will conduct testing. The Post also reported Republican officials were in Jacksonville on Monday looking at the city and the surrounding areas. According to the report in The Post, aides to Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry did not immediately respond to a request for comment. For some, like a group of Jacksonville pastors, the fact that moving the RNC to Jacksonville has been discussed and not made public is bothersome to them. Republican officials have also been considering several other locations for the convention, including Orlando, Nashville, Dallas, and Savannah, Ga.
