A roadway issue is forcing the closure of all east and westbound lanes of Red Bug Lake Road at Rollingwood Loop in Seminole County.

Authorities said the accident occurred at State Road 417 southbound near Red Bug Lake Road and forced a shutdown of both northbound and southbound lanes along State Road 417.

The FHP said two marked Seminole County Sheriff’s Office SUVs were assisting with the first crash, diverting traffic from S.R. 417 onto Aloma, when a Ford SUV failed to stop and plowed into one of cruisers. A deputy was getting into her vehicle at the time of the crash and was knocked to the ground, Montes said. The deputy and the driver of the Ford SUV suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital, the FHP said. Charges are pending against the driver of the Ford SUV, according to the FHP.

Southbound traffic on State Road 417 in Seminole County was at a standstill Monday morning due to a multi-vehicle crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The wreck was reported before 8 a.m. involving a truck and a sedan at Red Bug Lake Road, according to FHP. Kim Montes, a sedan was traveling north when it crossed over into southbound lanes, hitting a pickup truck. The driver of the sedan was taken to the hospital as a trauma alert, troopers said. All southbound lanes were blocked.

CASSELBERRY, Fla. – A 34-year-old Fern Park man was arrested on allegations of shooting at another vehicle off Red Bug Lake Road in Seminole County, according to deputies. The road rage shooting took place around 8:20 p.m. Thursday near Red Bug Lake Road and Merivale Drive. According to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, a man driving a red Jeep Wrangler said the driver of a white SUV shot at his vehicle and took off toward State Road 436. The Jeep driver said he left the scene because he didn’t want to get into trouble, and he didn’t want to press charges, according to the sheriff’s report. The driver of the SUV, identified as Garey Graham, said the Jeep cut him off and a road rage incident ensued, the report stated.
