Scattered rain chances stick around through the middle of the week.

After a week or so of dry weather, slight rain chances return to Central Florida for the weekend. A steady breeze from the Atlantic will help to generate a few showers and storms Saturday morning and gradually force them inland. The highest rain chances will occur closer to the coast.

Hurricane Sam continues to be a powerful hurricane as it moves north through the Atlantic Ocean. Even as Sam is more than 1,000 northeast of Florida, the storms indirect impacts are being felt across the Atlantic.

Hurricane Sam is a Category 4 storm that is not expected to strike Bermuda but is forecast bring tropical storm conditions to the territory and other islands.

SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. – Deputies have found and arrested a man who was wanted after abducting a woman Saturday morning. Within minutes, a detective found the alleged suspect vehicle heading west on State Road 44 in Citrus County. With the assistance of the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, officials said a pursuit ensued, at which time Thomas drove the stolen vehicle he was occupying into Lake Spivey.
