They later dispatched their dive team, which “located Jazmines submerged in the water near his putter.”Jazmines was pronounced dead at the scene. MIAMI, Fla. – A golden retriever rescue group based in South Florida awaited the arrival of 20 dogs from China being flown into Miami along with 20 eager dog lovers waiting to take their new pet home, reports News 6 partner WPLG. A spokesperson for Golden Rescue South Florida said the dogs were abused in China and would have most likely been butchered and ended up in the dog market as food. The group raised money to bring the golden retrievers here — they said it costs a minimum of $2,600 per dog. China is just one international location for Golden Rescue South Florida. The nonprofit organization has rescued retrievers from Turkey and Puerto Rico, as well as working with other animal advocacy groups and shelters in South Florida.

DAVIE, Fla. – An argument over a parking space in a Walmart lot turned violent quickly on Tuesday afternoon, according to Davie Police. PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. Nine employees of a Miami area television station have tested positive for COVID-19. WPLG-TV announced Wednesday that the station is taking every precaution, including the testing of 147 employees and their family members this week. Many of the stations employees are quarantined at home, including news anchor Nicole Perez and her reporter husband, Roy Ramos, along with anchor Louis Aguirre, who all tested positive. She said she's concerned about her husband who has experienced more severe symptoms, including painful coughing and shaking. Aguirre said hes feeling no symptoms and is taking a second test because he believes his first test may have been a false positive.

Detectives are investigating if a man who officers arrested on Tuesday after a chase on Interstate 95 is related to the deaths of two people in Fort Lauderdale, according to News 6 sister station WPLG. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has arrested a man who they said was captured on camera trying to remove an identification band from the leg of a brown pelican, News 6 partner WPLG reported. The incident allegedly occurred earlier this year at Robbies Marina of Islamorada. FWC officials said Robert Charles Hovey Jr., 33, of Louisiana, captured a wild animal within the boundaries of a state park, violated the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and tormented an animal in a cruel and inhumane manner.An arrest warrant was obtained for Hovey on March 13 and he turned himself in to authorities in Monroe County on Monday. Its unclear why Hovey was allegedly trying to remove the ID band. According to the FWC, the brown pelican is the smallest of the six different species of pelicans in the world and is found on both coasts of North and South America.

FORT PIERCE, Fla. – That darn wind is always causing trouble, especially for "Florida Man." A man pulled over by police in Fort Pierce last month claimed the cocaine residue found inside a Budweiser can along with a crack pipe was blown there by the wind, according to News 6 sister station WPLG. Police noticed Joseph Zak, 37, appeared to be trying to discard an item when he was stopped for failing to pause at a stop sign, The Smoking Gun reports. When cops asked Zak about the white residue inside the can which eventually tested positive for crack cocaine, he told them "the police or the wind must have placed it there." Zak was arrested and jailed.
