Rain, strong storms move into Central Florida

On Monday afternoon, at 1 p.m. National Hurricane Center issued a SPECIAL Tropical Weather Outlook for an area of rotation in the subtropical Atlantic.

The first of many spring cold fronts is on its way towards the southeast United States. In its wake, the Deep South and our neighbors up north are anticipating more severe weather. By the time it arrives in our area, the front will have essentially vanished without a trace.

The ups and downs in the weather department continue.

After a hefty weather weekend for lots of us, the rest of the spring break week ahead looks glorious! Warming temperatures after Tuesday morning, with another shot of cool air in the forecast by Friday morning before the vacation wraps up on a high note.

Sunday has been encompassed by discussions of severe thunderstorms and potential tornadoes for central Florida. However, after this rather historic storm system which has wreaked havoc for millions across the country moves downrange, a marvelous rest of the spring break vacation is in store for those able to take advantage of the time off.

A severe weather outbreak is unfolding and ongoing for the Deep South having initially started for the Central Plains and the Midwest on Friday. Now that threat continues east and a decent handful of these stronger, more organized storms could reach Central Florida.

We're still closely watching the eastward movement of an area of low pressure sparking flood conditions and isolated severe thunderstorms for the Deep South, Dixie Alley, and the Gulf coast states.

An area of low pressure is currently forming over the southern plains, and is expected to rocket across the upper gulf coast line before moving across Central Florida.
