Crash involving 2 semi-trucks shut down I-95 for hours in Brevard County

Lanes are now open

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – The southbound lanes are reopened on Interstate 95 in Brevard County after a crash involving two semi-trucks had them shut down for hours, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office closed all the lanes at mile marker 173 in Malabar to assist the FHP.

Troopers said the crash happened at mile marker 169 at 6 a.m.

One of the semi-trucks caught fire and the other spilled 150 gallons of diesel, according to the FHP. According to officials, one of the drivers was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The crash was a few miles south of mile marker 173, but the southbound lanes are now open.
