Officers said a 69-year-old truck driver was crossing the northbound lane of South Street from Foley Road in an attempt to turn into the southbound lane of South Street at the same time a motorcyclist traveled northbound on that same road.

The man driving the motorcycle struck the truck, sending it eastbound through the intersection and both lanes of traffic before it landed in the retention pond, according to police.

The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital, where he died less than an hour after the wreck, officers said.

Police said the Titusville truck driver was also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No other injuries were reported.
