DeLAND, Fla. – A 47-year-old DeLand man was killed early Friday in a single-vehicle wreck in Lake County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The fatal crash was reported around 1:50 a.m. on County Road 42 in Lake County, not far from DeLand in nearby Volusia County.

The FHP said the man was driving an SUV west on C.R. 42, west of County Road 44 when he ran off the road for an unknown reason and the vehicle overturned.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to troopers.
Westbound lanes of C.R. 42 were closed in the area, but the roadway was later reopened.
