22-year-old dies in fiery Brevard crash after car strikes palm tree, FHP says

Troopers say crash occurred near Canaveral Groves Boulevard, Morris Avenue

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A Titusville man died in a fiery Brevard County crash Thursday afternoon after he struck a palm tree, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the wreck occurred around 12:10 p.m. in the area of Canaveral Groves Boulevard and Morris Avenue.

The 22-year-old SUV driver was traveling west on Canaveral Groves Boulevard, east of Morris Avenue, when for an unknown reason, he went off the roadway and struck a palm tree, a crash report shows.

According to FHP, the impact completely engulfed the car in flames.

The man died at the scene, troopers said. The passenger in the SUV, a 24-year-old man from Raleigh, North Carolina, was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to investigators.

Both men were wearing their seatbelts, a crash report reads.
