ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A driver ran off after a wrong-way crash that killed a motorcyclist on State Road 520 in Orange County early Thursday, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened around 5:20 a.m. on SR-520 near State Road 528. The eastbound lanes of SR-520 remain closed in the area through 2:25 p.m.

According to FHP, a 2006 BMW 650i was traveling west in an eastbound lane on SR-520 when the vehicle collided with the front of a motorcycle, throwing the motorcyclist off the bike.
The motorcyclist, a 60-year-old Orlando man, was pronounced dead on scene.
Troopers said the BMW driver ran away after the crash and they are working with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office to locate the driver.
A witness traveling east on SR-520 in front of the motorcyclist said they saw the BMW driver going the wrong way and swerved to avoid a head-on crash with them, a crash report shows.
