KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A pedestrian was struck and killed early Wednesday in Osceola County, prompting the closure of a major roadway, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The fatal crash happened just after 5 a.m. on U.S. 192 at Griffin Road in Kissimmee.
The FHP said a 2020 Toyota Corolla driven by a 22-year-old Kissimmee woman was westbound on U.S. 192 when a 30-year-old Lakeland woman walking south entered the vehicle’s path and was struck.
The Lakeland woman was pronounced dead at the scene, the FHP said.
