According to troopers, the man was driving a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van in the middle lane when he tried to switch lanes in the path of a 2011 Hyundai Sonata.

The van hit the side of the Hyundai and the man tried to go back into his lane when he over-corrected and went off the road, according to a crash report. The van overturned several times and hit multiple trees off the highway, troopers said.

The 35-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other driver, a 23-year-old Melbourne man, had minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

An investigation is ongoing.
