Man killed, woman hurt when pickup truck strikes fence, trees along I-95 in Brevard County, FHP says

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A 61-year-old Pennsylvania man was killed and a 59-year-old woman from Colombia was left with serious injuries in a crash early Saturday along Interstate 95 in Brevard County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 1:12 a.m. as the White Haven man drove a pickup truck southbound on I-95, approaching mile marker 204 in the outside lane, troopers said.

According to an FHP crash report, the pickup truck ran off the roadway to the right and onto the unpaved outside shoulder, causing the front of the vehicle to strike a chain link fence. The pickup truck continued northwest where it would go on to strike trees, the report states.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene while the woman was hospitalized for treatment of serious injures, according to FHP. Neither of them were wearing a seat belt in the crash, troopers said.

FHP is still investigating.
