The motorcyclists — a 79-year-old man operating the bike and a 63-year-old woman riding as a passenger, both of Orlando — were approaching mile marker 90 in the center, southbound lane, an FHP crash report states. Behind the motorcycle, also traveling westbound in the center lane, a 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe being driven by a 34-year-old Longwood man failed to slow down for the vehicle ahead, striking it and projecting both motorcyclists into the road, according to the report.
Both motorcyclists were pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said. The man driving the Chevrolet was not injured, the report states.
