ORLANDO, Fla. – News 6 traffic safety expert Trooper Steve Montiero answers viewer questions about the rules of the roads, helping Central Florida residents become better drivers by being better educated.
Trooper Steve on Tuesday was asked, “Can I double-park if all the disabled parking spaces have been taken?”

“No,” Trooper Steve said. “It’s that simple.”
He said, however, that Florida law does make an exception in at least one instance.
“If all the spaces are taken and there’s paid parking available, you can park there for free as long as your decal is visible,” Trooper Steve said.
Drivers can be cited for double-parking, even on private property, he added.
