The FHP said the Nelson Webber was riding a 2005 Honda motorcycle west on KOA Street when a car traveling south on Monterey slowed but failed to stop before entering the intersection.

The front of the car struck the right side of the bike, which was redirected into the path of an SUV, the FHP said.

Webber struck the left front of the SUV and was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.

According to the FHP, the car fled the scene but the driver of the SUV, who was not injured, remained.
