ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 56-year-old man was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened Monday around 6 a.m. on East Colonial Drive near Dean Road.

According to a crash report, a vehicle traveling east on Colonial Drive struck the pedestrian, who was not in a marked crosswalk.

A witness told authorities a red SUV fled from the crash, according to FHP.

The vehicle is possibly a maroon 2007-2010 Acura TL or MDX with a missing passenger side mirror and damage to the front bumper.

The pedestrian, a 56-year-old Brooksville man, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
