Pedestrian killed in crash on Florida’s Turnpike near I-4 in Orange County

Northbound lanes reopen near mile marker 261

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A pedestrian was killed early Thursday in a crash on Florida’s Turnpike near I-4 in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened near mile marker 261, shutting down northbound lanes. The roadway has since reopened.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the crash involved a 2024 Hyundai Kona, a semitruck and a pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Details of the wreck have not been released.

An investigation is ongoing.
