Florida troopers search for damaged Toyota Camry

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A man was killed in an Orange County hit-and-run crash, prompting the Florida Highway Patrol to search for the vehicle involved, troopers said.

The time of the fatal crash is under investigation, but it was reported at 6:48 a.m. Monday on State Road 50 near Sandy Creek Lane near Orlando, the FHP said.

Troopers said a vehicle, possibly a 2004-2015 Toyota Camry was traveling east on State Road 50 and ran off the road, striking the man, who was in the grassy shoulder. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, an FHP crash report said.

The vehicle left the scene of the crash, but troopers found a vehicle part that may be linked to the car, officials said.

The FHP said the Camry likely has damage to its front grill, headlights and windshield.

No other details have been released.
