‘Jaw-dropping:’ Driver clocked going 108 mph in a 45 mph zone in Orange County

APOPKA, Fla. – Jaw-dropping. Illegal. Reckless. Dangerous.

Those are the words the Orange County Sheriff’s Office used Friday to describe a driver who they said was clocked traveling at 108 mph in a 45 mph zone.

The incident happened on Rock Springs Road in Apopka.

“Thankfully, our Motor Unit was there to stop this reckless behavior before it led to tragedy,” OCSO posted on X.

Deputies did not release any other details about the incident, including when it happened or whether the driver was arrested.

But the OCSO used it as a warning to drivers, saying, “Speeding isn’t just illegal; it’s dangerous. Slow down. Drive responsibly.”
