Trooper Steve on Patrol meets Zelda, Hilda at Orange County Animal Services

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – We found Zelda and Hilda a home!

Adopting a shelter pet isn’t just about finding a furry friend; it’s about giving them a second chance at life. Today, I want to introduce you to two remarkable dogs who embody just how much love senior pets have to offer.

Meet Zelda (A557432) and Hilda (A557433). These two senior gals, estimated to be between 8 and 10 years old, recently joined the shelter family. They were found wandering a neighborhood together — calm, quiet and inseparable.

Their story is a mystery. Were they abandoned? Victims of the storm? We may never know. But what we do know is that they deserve a loving forever home.

Here’s what makes them so special:

  • Inseparable bond: Zelda and Hilda are always side-by-side. They snuggle together on their shared bed, never argue over meals or treats and love soaking up the sun — always as a pair.
  • Sweet and gentle: Both dogs have charmed staff and volunteers with their affectionate nature. They’re good with other dogs and thrive on human companionship.

Senior dogs like Zelda and Hilda are often overlooked, but they have so much love to give. They’re calm, loyal and ready to be the perfect addition to your family.

Today’s live stream will feature these amazing ladies, so tune in to learn more about their personalities and see them in action.

Remember, when you adopt, you’re not just changing a pet’s life — you’re also enriching your own.

News 6 viewer Rhonda saw their story on News 6 and arrived to the shelter to adopt the girls just as we were finishing up today’s 10 a.m. stream.
