These roads are closed this weekend for the Florida Classic, nearby Orlando events

Traffic restrictions for Florida Classic, Battle Of The Bands

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando police and Orange County deputies will be keeping a closer eye on certain roads during Florida Classic weekend.

The city has announced which roads will be closed around Camping World Stadium, as well as where bus routes are headed and where parking may be available downtown.

Eola Drive will be closed for both directions of travel between Robinson and Washington streets from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 22 for the “Step Up for Down Syndrome” event, according to the city.

Church Street from Lake to Osceola avenues will be closed from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Nov. 30 for Small Business Saturday.

Not far from Camping World Stadium, the following traffic restrictions will be in place for the Florida Blue Battle of the Bands at the KIA Center:

  • One-direction northbound traffic on Division Avenue between South and Anderson streets from 9:30 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. Nov. 22.
  • One-direction eastbound travel on South Street between Division and Hughey avenues from 9:30 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. Nov. 22.
  • One-direction travel (not specified) on Anderson Street between Hicks and Parramore avenues from 9:30 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. Nov. 22.
  • Both directions open with potential restrictions on Church Street between Division and Hughey avenues from 4 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. Nov. 22

Largely depicted in the map at the bottom of this story, the following roads will experience closures due to the Florida Blue Florida Classic:

  • Nov. 22
    • Church Street between Tampa and Rio Grande avenues, 9 a.m. to 1.5 hours post event
    • Tampa Avenue between Central Boulevard and Church Street, 1 p.m. to 1.5 hours post event
  • Nov. 23
    • Church Street between Rio Grande Avenue and Orange Blossom Trail, 7:30 a.m. to 1.5 hours post event
    • Tampa Avenue between Church and South streets, 7:30 a.m. to 1.5 hours post event
    • Rio Grande Avenue between Church and Anderson streets, 7:30 a.m. to 1.5 hours post event
    • South Street between Rio Grande and Norton avenues, 7:30 a.m. to 1.5 hours post event
    • Nashville Avenue between Central Boulevard and Church Street, 7:30 a.m. to 1.5 hours post event
    • Nashville Avenue between Coyler and Anderson streets, 7:30 a.m. to 1.5 hours post event
    • Norton Avenue between Central Boulevard and Church Street, 7:30 a.m. to 1.5 hours post event
    • Long Street between Rio Grande and Tampa avenues, 7:30 a.m. to 1.5 hours post event
    • Central Boulevard between Hughey and Garland avenues, 7:30 a.m. to 1.5 hours post event
    • Pine Street between Nashville Avenue and Orange Blossom Trail, 7:30 a.m. to 1.5 hours post event
  • Shuttle routes
    • Stops at stadium (Church Street and Nashville Avenue) and downtown (Central Boulevard and Hughey Avenue)
    • Free to ride from 10:30 a.m. to 1 hour post event
  • Rideshare and taxi pickup, drop off
    • Lot 9 along Rio Grande Avenue, south of Carter Street.
    • Dollins Avenue between Washington Street and Central Boulevard
