ST. PETERSRURG, Fla. – Two men were arrested early Sunday after leading Florida troopers on a chase reaching speeds up to 140 mph, authorities said.

The Florida Highway Patrol said troopers spotted a stolen vehicle traveling at 110 mph on I-75 near Tampa.

A traffic stop was attempted, but the St. Petersburg men, ages 19 and 20, fled, reaching 140 mph with troopers in pursuit, according to officials.

After exiting the interstate at Big Bend Road, a trooper performed a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver, leading to the arrest of both men, the FHP said.

The men face charges of grand theft and fleeing and eluding.
