New video shows gunman wounding 2 Orlando police officers

Orlando police officers Kaley Powell and Andy Rodriguez were critically injured August 4, 2023, after being shot multiple times by Daton Viel, a convicted felon on supervised probation who was awaiting trial for allegedly raping a teen girl.  Viel, 28, was later killed in a shootout with the Orlando Police Department SWAT team.
