"We are pinpointing the coldest air of the year so far as temperatures dropped into the 20s and 30s across Central Florida," News 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said. "Temperatures feel even cooler with light winds coming in out of the north."

The overnight low in Ocala dipped to 27 degrees, and The Villages reached 32 degrees. The low in Daytona Beach hit 34 degrees, and the lows in Orlando and Melbourne were 38 and 40, respectively.

Afternoon high temperatures will rebound on Wednesday, however, reaching the mid-60s in Orlando.

Overnight temperatures will not be as cold, with lows in the 40s in Orlando.

"Expect temperatures above average for Thursday and Friday in the mid-70s," Bridges said.

Rain chances stay out of the forecast until Thursday, when there's a 10 percent chance.

"Rain chances will be up to 70 percent on Friday afternoon as a new front moves in," Bridges said. "There will be the chance for a few thunderstorms, but the severe risk is very low."

The new front brings colder air for the weekend.

Afternoon highs on Saturday will be in the upper 50s, with morning lows back into the 30s early Sunday.

Temperatures warm back into the 70s as we head into next workweek, especially by Tuesday.
