Get outside: Sunshine in forecast across Central Florida

Lots of sun, high pollen, little rain to greet Central Florida this weekend

ORLANDO, Fla. – It's going to be a great weekend to be out and about all across Central Florida, according to News 6 meteorologist Samara Cokinos.

High temperatures on Saturday hit 79 degrees in Melbourne, 80 degrees in Daytona Beach and 82 degrees in Orlando.

A pleasant night is ahead, with lows ranging from 59 degrees in Ocala to 62 degrees in Palm Bay and 63 degrees in Orlando under mostly clear skies.

Pollen levels will be high through the weekend with mainly dry weather expected.

The next cold front will move into Central Florida early in the workweek. With it comes the rain that will help bring pollen levels down.

Sunday starts out sunny, but as evening approaches, southerly winds increase the moisture and clouds, and there could be a chance of rain overnight, News 6 meteorologist Danny Treanor said.

"Most of the day looks good, with temps in the 80s," Treanor said. "The chance of rain Sunday night is 40 percent. Also, rip current threats remain high for Sunday."

Monday will be a rain day, and the afternoon could see some thunderstorms. This will be a stalled system that will cause rainy conditions to continue into Tuesday.

Sunshine returns by Wednesday and rain returns by Friday, according to Treanor.
