ORLANDO, Fla. – Expect light to moderate scattered showers late Wednesday evening and early Thursday morning.
A few strong storms will then develop Thursday afternoon and early evening.
A large area of low pressure near Louisiana will be the focal point for generating rounds of heavy rain and thunderstorms Thursday.
A few of the storms could be strong with isolated damaging wind and heavy rain. Given the setup, a brief tornado or two cannot be ruled out.
A few storms will be possible Thursday morning, especially along the coast.
After lunch, a few downpours could develop along a line from Ocala to Bushnell to Lakeland and will point northeast.
These storms will drift to the northeast increasing in coverage and intensity through the afternoon.
The Interstate 75 corridor will be drier for the commute. Stronger storms will close in on I-4 and I-95 through dinner.
Expect the strongest storms by the commute home to be in between I-4 and the east coast of Florida.
A few of these storms could be strong with very heavy rain and the potential for damaging wind.
A few more storms will be possible in interior Central Florida for the late evening, but they are not expected to be severe.
