ORLANDO, Fla. – Christmas looks to start an unsettled weather stretch across Central Florida, however, the bulk of the wet weather should hold off until Tuesday and Wednesday.
A cold front will be approaching Central Florida for the holiday. Ahead of that front Friday and Saturday, it will turn warmer with highs in the low-to-mid 70s. Expect partly cloudy skies both days. With the breeze out of the east, a stray downpour moving in off of the Atlantic will be possible through Christmas morning.
With that said, most of Central Florida is dry through Christmas morning.
Slightly higher rain chances arrive later Christmas afternoon. Highs will be in the mid 70s Christmas day with rain chances at 30%. The rain that does develop should be on the lighter side and won’t last all day.
The cold front gets hung up in Central Florida Tuesday and Wednesday keeping clouds and rain chances around. Rain chances go up to 40% both Tuesday and Wednesday. Highs will remain in the low-to-mid 70s around the Orlando area. Expect upper 60s northwest of I-4.
The front finally moves by Thursday allowing cooler air to pour down the peninsula. Highs Thursday top out in the mid 60s. It appears Central Florida will end 2023 on a roller coaster ride with temperatures fluctuating between the 50s and 70s to close out the year.
