ORLANDO, Fla. – After a chilly start Thursday morning, a quick warm up will begin across Central Florida. Highs by the afternoon will max out near normal in the low 70s with cloud coverage increasing from the south. A few isolated showers will be possible through the day with coverage at 10-20%.
Stubborn clouds will remain in place into the evening, keeping overnight lows in the upper 50s to low 60s.
Another front is going to make its way into Florida by Friday that is expected to deliver the biggest blast of cold air we’ve seen all season long. As the front slides overhead, scattered showers are forecast to track through with a chance for an isolated thunderstorm. Coverage by Friday afternoon will be 30-40% with highs staying warm in the low 70s.
The cold blast begins quickly in the wake of the front with overnight lows dropping into the mid-30s to mid-40s by Saturday morning. Northerly winds between 10-15 mph behind the front, will drop wind chill readings into the low- to mid-30s.
The cold air will linger for a few days with highs both Saturday and Sunday staying chilly in the 50s. The coldest air will be felt overnight Saturday and into early Sunday morning with lows below freezing in northern counties to low 40s further south. Breezy conditions will knock wind chill values into the mid-20s to mid-30s.
By the start of the workweek, a big time warm up will be ahead as highs rebound back into the upper 70s to low 80s by Wednesday.
