ORLANDO, Fla. – Highs in the low 70s today were nothing compared to the mid 80s on Saturday.
The cooler air has arrived and will continue to move in as the night goes on. It’s already 15-20 degrees colder than it was 24 hours ago.
Tonight will get even colder.
Brace yourselves for a chilly and even cold start to the workweek. As you roll out of bed on Monday morning, be ready to grab those jackets because we’re in for a bit of a temperature tumble.
Lows tonight will continue to dip. Expect the widespread 40s for your Monday wake-up call, giving us a cold introduction to the week ahead. It’s a stark reminder that even in Florida, it’s still winter and it can still get cold.
The wind isn’t letting up either. Expect the northwest wind to remain breezy and make it feel a few degrees colder to start the day. Wind chill values will range from the mid 30s to the low 40s.
Tomorrow the sun will shine bright, but there won’t be much heat.
As the day goes on, highs will only manage to crawl back into the low-to-mid 60s. Areas northwest of Interstate 4 will struggle to reach the upper 50s nearing 60 degrees around 3 or 4 p.m.
Temperatures will drop off quickly after sunset tomorrow. Overnight lows into Tuesday morning are poised for another dip. Be sure to set the alarm clock a little earlier to give yourself a little extra time to tackle the chilly morning. Wake up temperatures will range from the upper 30s in Ocala to the low 40s in and around Orlando. To the south and near the Brevard coast expect the low-to-mid 40s.
High pressure will stabilize the atmosphere providing a dry work week even as a reinforcing push of cooler arrives midweek. This weak front will keep temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s from Wednesday into the weekend.
The next chance for rain returns Sunday.
