TIMELINE: Steady rain, few strong storms return to Central Florida

Highest rain chances during first half of Sunday

Rainy Sunday (maxuser)

ORLANDO, Fla. – The chance for strong storms will continue through Central Florida until about 9 p.m. Sunday evening.

News 6 declared Sunday an Inconvenient Weather Day for the chance for a few isolated storms – some strong, later in the afternoon and evening. This active pattern continues to be related to El Niño.

After 2 p.m., isolated storms will fire back up as a disturbance moves through North Florida. The highest chance for this second round of rain/storms will be north of Orlando.

While all of Central Florida has the chance for a few strong storms, the “best” potential also looks to focus north of Orlando.

Scattered shower chances continue Monday as the storm system moves away from Florida. It will turn cooler Monday, mid 60s, behind the storm system.

Scattered rain chances continue Tuesday, especially along the coast.
