ORLANDO, Fla. – A cold front moves in on Saturday, increasing rain chances. Light showers are expected to begin Saturday morning and persist until late Sunday evening.

As that cold front approaches, it will usher abundant moisture toward Florida. This combination will lead to successive rounds of intense rainfall across the Sunshine State, with rain coverage anticipated to reach 70-90% on both Saturday and Sunday.

Intermittent rain is forecasted to continue overnight, with a higher likelihood of heavier rainfall expected as Sunday approaches. Expect unsettled conditions persisting into Sunday afternoon and evening, with the most intense rainfall lingering late into Sunday, particularly along the coast.

Consecutive days of persistent rainfall over Central Florida raise concerns about potential flooding.

The total accumulation of rainfall is expected to be between 1-3 inches with locally higher amounts.
