ORLANDO, Fla. – Steady light-to-moderate rain will persist over Central Florida on Sunday. There will be a few breaks with overcast skies and highs staying below average in the lower 60s.
Widespread light-to-moderate rain is likely through the entire day with the threat for localized flooding in poorly drained and low-lying areas.
According to the National Weather Service, data indicates on Saturday that Leesburg broke its daily rainfall record for the day of 1.30 inches, surpassing the previous record of 0.64 inches set in 1972.
Drier and cooler air is expected to move in Monday. Scattered light showers are possible early Monday but things turn drier Monday afternoon with highs staying in the lower 60s. The sunshine returns before sunset and Monday.
Colder mornings are expected beginning on Tuesday lasting through Friday. Brrrr!
