Clouds will build and winds will pick up through Friday in response to a cold front approaching the area. Before the front arrives, highs will have time to rebound into the mid- to upper 70s through midday.
Models show the front moving in across northern counties by late afternoon and clearing our area by 8 p.m. Friday. A few scattered showers will be likely, with coverage at 30-50%. Along with the rain, there will be a strong breeze with sustained winds forecast to reach 15-20 mph and gusts upward of 25-35 mph.
In the wake of the front this weekend, temperatures are expected to cool back into the 60s during the day and back into the mid- to low 40s overnight. The weekend will be packed with cool sunshine, with the breeze kicking up gusts back up to 20-25 mph.
A quick warmup will begin as we start next workweek, with temperatures warming in to the low 80s by Wednesday.
