ORLANDO, Fla. – A weakening cold front will approach Central Florida late Wednesday and into Thursday, ushering in cooler air by Thursday.
Before the front gets here, a strong southerly breeze between 10-15 mph will warm into the mid 80s. Although these temperatures are well above the normal range, most areas should remain a few degrees below their records.
Minimal rain is expected as the front passes overhead and it eventually stalls out. Behind the front, winds will veer more northerly, bringing temperatures back to normal in the mid 70s.
A more unsettled weather pattern is forecast this upcoming weekend across east Central Florida, with a return of rain and storms in the forecast. A weak frontal boundary over the Carolinas will develop a low along it as it stalls over Florida.
This will lead to increasing moisture across the area, increasing our threat for scattered showers. Expect coverage to start at 20-40% on Saturday and increasing to 40-50% on Sunday.
Despite the approach of fronts and more rain, temperatures will remain relatively unchanged and warm across east Central Florida. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s to mid 80s are forecast each day with overnight lows in the low to mid 60s.
