Cold front moves in Monday, bringing higher rain chances

ORLANDO, Fla. – In Central Florida, St. Patrick’s Day will kick off with morning fog, followed by another attempt to reach 90 degrees in the afternoon under partly cloudy skies.

Sunday evening, expect increased cloud cover and the chance of a few passing showers, primarily north of Ocala.

A potent cold front will usher in even colder temperatures across the Sunshine State by Tuesday.

This front is set to arrive Monday afternoon, bringing a 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms.

A marginal risk has been placed for Marion, Sumter and Lake counties on Monday. One or two thunderstorms could turn strong to severe through the afternoon.

By Tuesday morning, expect wake-up temperatures to range in the 40s and low 50s, with slightly milder conditions along the immediate Atlantic coast.

Tuesday afternoon highs are likely to reach the 60s.

Wake-up temperatures Wednesday morning are expected to be in the 40s.

Expect these cool mornings to last though Thursday. Rain chances go up by the end of the week.
