ORLANDO, Fla. – There will be a little less rain Wednesday across Central Florida, but that means a little more heat for some of y’all!
We are tracking a dry pocket of air pushing in from the Atlantic, and it will limit rain coverage south of Orlando to 20-40%.
Expect a higher coverage (50-70%) of rain further north as the collision of the sea breezes is still expected through the afternoon. Any storms that develop may be capable of producing lightning, gusty winds and heavy downpours.
Most of the activity on the radar should diminish by 8 p.m., with a mostly dry evening expected.
Another relatively drier-than-normal day is forecast for Thursday before rain and storm chances surge back to 60-70% by Friday and into the weekend.
Conditions remain dangerously hot across all of Central Florida for the rest of the week as highs will once again climb into the low to mid-90s, with heat indices reaching up to 107 degrees.
Along with more rain returning for the weekend, a plume of Saharan dust will make its way across the Atlantic and into Central Florida. Some of this dust could lower air quality but also turn our sunrises and sunsets extra vibrant.
