Plumes of Saharan dust continue to move across Central Florida, lowering the air quality and rain chances

ORLANDO, Fla. – Saharan dust will continue moving across the peninsula, lowering the air quality in Central Florida through Sunday.

Rain chances are expected to range from 30% to 40% from cities south and east of Interstate 4, increasing to 60% to 70% north of I-4. Scattered thunderstorms are likely in those areas, with periods of heavy rain, lightning and potential wind gusts of 40-50 mph in the afternoon through the evening.

With high humidity, temperatures will feel like they are between 105 and 107 degrees, just below heat advisory criteria.

On Monday, tropical moisture will arrive, raising rain chances to 70% across Central Florida. The elevated rain chances are expected to persist through midweek.
