Development chances increase for disturbance in Atlantic

NHC gives wave a 50% chance of development over next 7 days

ORLANDO, Fla. – The National Hurricane Center is monitoring an area of disturbed weather in the central Atlantic east of the Lesser Antilles.

As of 5 a.m. Monday, there’s a medium chance that this disturbance could develop into a tropical depression or tropical storm over this week.

As it moves northwest into the Caribbean, conditions are expected to improve for development.

The NHC has mentioned the chance of a tropical depression forming over the Leeward Islands, Greater Antilles, or southwestern Atlantic by midweek. News 6 will keep you informed as this develops.
