Breezy and hot in Central Florida. Here’s when rain chances ramp back up

Typical summertime setup returns Thursday, into weekend

ORLANDO, Fla. – Tropical Storm Debby continues to meander off the Georgia, just over 200 miles away from Central Florida. Although most of the tropical moisture has lifted out of the area, the breeze will remain in place for another day with gusts picking up between 20-25mph.

Replacing the deep tropical moisture will be a surge of dry air wrapping into the region. Rain chances through the afternoon remain lower than normal at 20-40%.

With the lack of rain, comes big-time heat with highs soaring back into the mid 90s with feels like temperatures up to 102-107 degrees.

Conditions will transition back to a typical summertime setup by Thursday and into the weekend with the threat of afternoon storms increasing to 60-70% with temperatures getting close to heat advisory status.

TROPICS:

Along with Tropical Storm Debby, a tropical wave in the Caribbean has a low chance of further development as it tracks west towards the Yucatan Peninsula.

Other than that, limited development is expected across the tropical Atlantic as another big plume of Saharan dust filters across the ocean. Some of that is forecast to arrive over Florida by early next week, which will deliver another stretch of vibrant sunrises and sunsets. Click here to read more on how the dust impacts our weather.
