ORLANDO, Fla. – We enjoyed a beautiful weekend with slightly lower relative humidity, which made it feel pretty comfortable in Central Florida.
However, the brief respite from the humidity is over, and we are back to triple-digit heat index readings for our workweek.

Monday evening’s forecast
For your Monday afternoon, we will stay mostly dry with quite a bit of sunshine.
Showers and thunderstorms will generally move from west to east. The best chance for storms over the next couple of hours will be to the east of I-4. We could see some isolated heavy showers in southern Osceola County and southern Brevard County before they move out over the Atlantic.
Mid-week rain chances
As we move into Tuesday, we could see some isolated showers beginning pretty early as a front slowly moves into Central Florida.
By Wednesday, as the front stalls out, an area of low pressure developing over the Gulf will continue to send significant moisture our way.
Our rain chances by Wednesday and Thursday will be around 70%, making for a wet end to our week.
7-day outlook
For Monday night, expect lows around the mid-70s, with partly cloudy skies.
Looking at the next seven days, highs will reach around 95 on Tuesday with increasing rain chances.
By Wednesday, temperatures will be around 94 with even more rain expected, continuing into Saturday and Sunday with high rain chances.
Tropical update: Tracking Hurricane Ernesto
In the tropics, we are still tracking Hurricane Ernesto. As of Monday, Ernesto remained a hurricane with winds at 90 mph.
The storm was rapidly moving north at 28 mph. By Wednesday, Ernesto is expected to weaken into a tropical storm with winds at 45 mph.
