ORLANDO, Fla. – A cold front draped across north Florida will linger over the next several days as it stalls through the weekend.
WEDNESDAY:
This boundary nearby will induce a better chance for widespread rain and storms late in the morning and into the early evening hours.
Storms on Wednesday will favor the south portion of Central Florida (60-70%), due to slightly drier air filtering in from the north for Marion and Flagler counties.
The primary concerns embedded with these storms will be frequent lighting, gusty winds (40-50mph) and heavy downpours.
Temperatures are once again expected to reach the low-to-mid 90s with heat indices reaching 102-105 degrees.
THURSDAY-WEEKEND
Conditions will remain in a humid and unsettled weather pattern through the weekend as the front overstays its welcome. Expect afternoons to remain wet and active with an enhanced chance for storms up to 70-80% each afternoon.
With the added cloud cover and the rain-cooled air, highs should run near normal through the weekend in the low 90s.
TROPICS:
Post-tropical storm Ernesto continues to fall apart over the Northern Atlantic, elsewhere no new tropical development is expected within the next several days.
