Classic summer: Scattered storms, heat in Central Florida

Main weather impacts will be lightning, heavy downpours and gusty winds

ORLANDO, Fla. – A very typical summer setup continues through the week with scattered coastal showers in the morning, followed by scattered storms inland along the I-4 corridor and to the west.

The main weather impacts with these storms will be lightning, heavy downpours and gusty winds.

Temperatures will remain near normal in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees with feels like temperatures up to 100-105 degrees.

Labor Day weekend

As we head into the holiday weekend, rain chances will gradually increase, with increasing moisture levels at the surface. By Sunday and into Labor Day, rain chances will climb to about 50 to 60%.

Tropics update:

Two areas in the tropics are being watched closely, but neither poses a significant threat at this time.

A system east of Bermuda has a low chance of development, while a tropical wave near the northern Leeward Islands holds a 20% chance of developing as it moves west toward the Leeward Islands.
