Scattered heavy rain could lead to more flooding. Here’s your Central Florida forecast

Stationary front bringing more rain

ORLANDO, Fla. – A stationary front remains draped over the region bringing substantial downpours during the afternoon hours, which could lead to localized flooding in low-lying and poorly drained areas.

Today’s forecast highs are expected to reach the lower 90s across inland areas and upper 80s along the coast.

Scattered afternoon rain

With the high humidity, it’ll feel like 102-106 degrees. The chance of heavy rain is at 70%.

Rain chances remain moderate heading into the weekend with highs in the lower 90s.

Pinpointing the tropics:

In the tropics, several disturbances are being monitored. One in the western Caribbean and another in the northwestern Gulf of Mexico have low chances of tropical development. Regardless, heavy rain is expected along coastal Louisiana through the weekend.

Additionally, a wave in the northern Atlantic has a 30% chance of development in the next two to seven days. Another area with a low development chance is also being watched.

Currently, there are no tropical threats to Central Florida.
