ORLANDO, Fla. – Parts of Central Florida have been dealing with flooding issues as a stalled front has fueled afternoon thunderstorms.
The stalled front has not only helped to trigger storms, but it has supplied Central Florida with abundant moisture for our typical afternoon sea breeze thunderstorms to use.
Here’s a look at how much rain has fallen since Sept. 1:
- Daytona Beach: 10.29 inches
- Orlando: 4.21 inches
- Melbourne: 2.43 inches
- Sanford: 6.53 inches
- Leesburg: 6.32 inches
Heavy rainfall caused some streets in Orlando’s Thornton Park neighborhood to flood.
On Monday heavy rainfall led to flooding and vehicles on streets in the College Park neighborhood nearly submerged.
The area will see some relief when rain chances drop early next week due to drier air moving into the area.
