Dry start to fall as tropics heat up

Dry conditions, low rain chances as we start the work week

ORLANDO, Fla. – Rain chances aren’t very high Sunday afternoon and things get even drier as we start the work week in Central Florida.

Sunday to Tuesday:

Sunday afternoon brings a 30% chance of coastal showers, but rain chances will significantly decrease as we move into the work week.

Monday and Tuesday are expected to be relatively dry with lower humidity levels. However, temperatures will remain typical for September, reaching up to 91 degrees.

Late week to the weekend:

As fall begins, hurricane season is ramping up. A developing system in the western Caribbean is expected to evolve into a broad area of low pressure by mid-week. The National Hurricane Center is giving it a 70% chance of potential development through the week.

Though current satellite imagery shows little convection, models are closely monitoring this potential system. There is considerable disagreement among the Canadian, European, Icon, and American models regarding its path and timing. The projected impact zone ranges from Louisiana to the west coast of Florida late in the week, but it’s too early to determine specific impacts on Central Florida.
