ORLANDO, Fla. – A dry cold front is forecasted to sweep through Central Florida, beginning late Tuesday and into early Wednesday morning, bringing a dose of cooler fall weather into the area.
Ahead of the front, highs are expected to remain warm into the mid to upper 80s under mostly clear skies.
Once the front clears by daybreak on Wednesday, highs are forecast to drop about 10 degrees into the mid 70s.
The coolest point of the week comes early Thursday morning as wake up temperatures will dip into the upper 50s across a big portion of Central Florida.
Temperatures are projected to rebound slightly into the low 80s by the weekend with highs returning to the low 80s.
A threat for coastal flooding will begin late Wednesday night and through Friday morning along coastal communities due to high tides combined with increased onshore winds. Expect the high risk of rip currents remain a big threat all week long.
Tropical update
In other weather news, one area in the middle of the tropical Atlantic is being monitored.
It has a medium chance of development as it moves toward the northern Leeward Islands by the middle of next week. Current conditions are unfavorable for significant development, as the system will encounter harsh environmental factors.
