Halloween weather through the years in Central Florida: Here’s when it was the coolest ever

Central Florida residents can expect a forecast that’s more treat than trick!

ORLANDO, Fla. – This year, afternoon highs are set to soar into the middle to upper 80s, creating “not so warm” weather conditions for those trick-or-treating and celebrating the spooky season.

Last year’s Halloween: A mild, dry affair

Last Halloween, Orlando enjoyed in mild weather with highs reaching 85 — a few degrees above the normal temperature of 81.

The evening cooled down to a comfortable 67, making it an ideal night for goblins and ghosts to roam the streets. Surprisingly, it hasn’t rained on Halloween in Orlando for the past five years, making sure costumes stay dry and candy stays safe. That’s important!

A look back at Halloweens past

The weather on Halloween has varied widely over the years.

In 2022, the temperature climbed to a sweltering 90, with overnight lows at 70. Just a year earlier, in 2021, temperatures dropped to a cool 75 with lows of 59, offering a nice change.

Going further back, 1993 holds the title for the coolest Halloween on record, with highs reaching 66. A big difference from the scorcher in 2019, when temperatures hit a sizzling 91, the highest on record for the holiday, coupled with a warm overnight temperature of 74.

While many associate Halloween with crisp autumn air and maybe a sprinkle of rain, Central Florida has seen a dry streak.

The wettest Halloween recorded was in 1958, when 2.79 inches of rain fell. Since then, it’s been smooth sailing, weather-wise.
