ORLANDO, Fla. – A stretch of mild and dry weather continues over the next few days, as a large ridge of high pressure remains the dominant weather feature Monday and into Tuesday.
Expect highs to remain slightly above average in the mid to low 80s as skies start building back in by Tuesday.
Wednesday
Big changes are coming our way starting Wednesday as a strong fall front approaches the Sunshine State. Along this front, expect an extra dose of rain as it it picks up leftover tropical moisture from what was Tropical Storm Sara.
The rain is expected to pick up after midnight Tuesday, continuing through the day on Wednesday. There are still some differences between weather models, with the GFS showing less moisture and instability than the European.
For now, we’re going with a 50-60% chance of rain on Wednesday. Some heavy downpours are possible, along with a slight chance of a few strong storms. The front is forecast to clear the area by late Wednesday night, kickstarting our cool stretch as temperatures drop into the 50s early Thursday morning.
Thursday - Saturday
The coldest air in months arrives Thursday with a cool stretch continuing into the weekend. Forecast shows highs staying well below average in the upper 60s to low 70s during the day.
The chilliest weather will come overnight as lows are expected to dip into the 40s and low 50s.
Along with the cool air settling in, so will the dry air with rain chances staying out of the area through the extended outlook.
Thanksgiving preview
Looking ahead into the Thanksgiving holiday, Central Florida is expected to gradually warm back into the low 80s with rain chances remaining low at 10-20%.
For those planning on hosting Thanksgiving dinner outdoors, temperatures will be mild in the low 70s.
