Frost possible in parts of Central Florida as temps set to drop. Here’s your weekend forecast

Temperatures expected to tumble into Saturday morning

ORLANDO, Fla. – Winter-like temperatures have arrived across Central Florida as many Central Floridians woke up in the 40s early Friday morning!

Through the day, expect breezy conditions with winds at 15-20 mph and gusts up to 25 mph. Highs will be about 7-10 degrees below normal, with the I-4 corridor reaching the mid-60s, and southern areas in the upper 60s. However, with those gusty winds, it will feel even cooler.

Highs Friday

Temperatures are expected to tumble even further tonight with most areas seeing lows in the low-to-mid 40s, except along the Space and Treasure coasts where it’ll be in the mid-to-upper 40s. Some rural spots could even see lows near the upper 30s.

Saturday Morning

Winds will calm down overnight, dropping to around 5 mph, allowing for some areas to develop some patchy frost, especially in areas around Marion, Sumter, northern Lake and inland Flagler counties.

Frost Saturday Morning

A more typical weather pattern sets up for the weekend as high pressure builds in from the Deep South. Expect conditions to remain mostly dry and mild, with highs returning to the 70s by Sunday.

It’ll stay cool overnight with lows in the low-to-mid 40s inland and upper 40s along the coast. By Sunday night, expect temperatures in the upper 40s to low 50s inland, and mid to upper 50s along the coast.

Temperature Trend

We’ll see mostly dry weather through the workweek as weak high pressure lingers over the area. Temperatures will gradually warm up, with highs reaching the upper 70s to around 80 by Wednesday and into Thanksgiving day on Thursday.

Long range models show a chance for another another cold front by late Friday but for now, it looks like dry weather will stick around until then.
